Learn about the different forms of substance use and how
the use of substances can affect seniors physically and
emotionally. Find out how substance use can impact the
effect of your prescribed medications.

Getting a good night’s sleep is key for emotional well-
being. Learn about the importance of sleep and get helpful
tips on healthy sleep habits.
DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY
Wednesday, August 20 | 10 – 11 AM
Learn to recognize the symptoms of depression and anxiety
in seniors. Find out what contributes to these problems
and what needs to be done when you or someone you
love suffers from depression or anxiety.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Wednesday, August 27 | 10 – 11 AM
This presentation defines emotional intelligence, the
components of emotional intelligence, and explains how
it impacts an individual’s daily functioning in the context
of interpersonal relationships. It also imparts tips on
improving one’s emotional intelligence in order to improve
their quality of life.
HOARDING
Wednesday, September 3 | 10 – 11 AM
Learn to identify the differences between collecting,
cluttering, and hoarding, and the need for treatment for
those who might have a significant problem.
SOCIAL ISOLATION
Wednesday, September 10 | 10 – 11 AM
Learn about how isolation can affect mental and physical
health. Get ideas on how to manage isolation and make
simple changes in your life in order to live a healthy and
productive life.
21 PRESERVING YOUR MEMORY
Wednesday, September 17 | 10 - 11 AM
As we age we all have moments of forgetfulness. This
presentation will provide useful tips and brain exercises
to sharpen your thinking and help keep moments of
forgetfulness to a minimum.
BULLYING
Wednesday, September 24 | 10 - 11 AM
Bullying can occur at any time throughout our lives. Learn
how to recognize it and tips on what to do if you feel it’s
happening to you.

Dance Classes
BALLROOM & LATIN DANCE
8-week session| Instructor: Chris Chuc
Location: Senior Center Dining Room
Have fun learning Latin and Ballroom dances. In this class you
will learn Latin dances like Rumba, Chacha, Salsa, Merengue,
and Bachata as well as Ballroom dances like the Waltz, Tango,
Foxtrot, Swing and more. No partner needed, will do partner
rotation during class.

LINE DANCE
8-week session| Instructor: Chris Chuc
Location: Senior Center Dining Room
This exciting class will teach you basic line dancing steps for
Western Cowboy or Country, Swing, and more. Enjoy line
dancing, improve coordination, and enhance memory at the
same time.
