Get ready to reach new heights! Oceanside Parks and Recreation
is excited to offer Climbing Teens Camp in partnership with Vital
Climbing Gym! Climbing teens is designed for all skill levels to get
young teens involved and exposed to rock climbing! This camp will
give campers the opportunity to learn basic techniques, develop
strength, and give a great intro into rock climbing. The camp will be
held in a group setting which will begin with stretching and warming
up then into guided climbing. Make sure to bring water and a snack,
climbing shoes will be provided, along with chalk and chalk bags.
Active/loose clothing is recommended. In order to participate: In
addition to registering for the activity, all participants must have a
climbing waiver filled out.

LATIN DANCE
Instructor: Off the Beaten Track Productions
In this playful and engaging class kids will explore the world of acting
through fun theater games, creative movement, and imaginative play.
Each session helps little actors build confidence, focus, and teamwork
skills while having a blast pretending, playing, and expressing
themselves on stage and screen. Including performing little scenes
and commercials to camera for parents to watch on the final day. No
experience needed, just big imaginations.

BEACH YOGA

Enjoy an evening in the park getting in touch with your body and
senses with grounding outdoor yoga, a view of the pacific ocean and
astounding sunsets. Beginning with simple breathing, stretches and
movements to bring you in touch with your body and mind, class
will pick up to more strength building and balance training, and cool
down to a peaceful relaxing ending with rest and meditation. All levels
welcome!

Build your confidence and become a better dancer with this beginner's
Latin dance class for adults of all ages. Join our dance class and discover
the joy of moving to the rhythm of Latin music. Participants will learn
Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue. Whether you just want to survive on
the dance floor or stand out in the crowd, learning to dance has never
been easier. No partner, No problem because this class brings people
together in a warm and welcoming environment.

This free program is ideal for students who are interested in
discovering the art of Mariachi! Violinists, guitarists, trumpet-players,
and singers are ALL WELCOME. Classes in Mariachi culture, music
theory, improvisation, and movement. The teens enrolled can come to
the center on non-class days and practice. All students will be issued
the instruments.

ACTING TO CAMERA

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! We will focus on commercials and tv/film
scripts for all levels. Starting off with improvisation and commercials
to camera and then audition skills using scripts. We will then work in
partners, rehearsing a scene that will be filmed and emailed to parents.
Learn how to be confident and creative through storytelling.

Dance the night away at the Joe Balderrama Recreation Center! Ballet
Folklorico will bring students together through the expression of a
world renown cultural dance. Some of the many benefits of enrolling:
exercise for the body and brain, teamwork skills, such as communicating
with others, and how to use dance as a vehicle for self-expression.
