The mission of the Youth Opportunity Center is to EMPOWER
teens and young adults by providing SUPPORT , MENTORSHIP ,
and DEVELOPMENT in life skills, committed to fostering hope and
creating opportunities through equity, unity, and diversity.

Food Handlers Card
The purpose of the food handlers card training program is to prepare
food handlers to enter the workforce by providing the required food
safety information as specified by regulations of the workers’ state or
local government.

Standing on Business
This one day program focuses on helping young people develop the
critical workplace skills that will make them stand out to employers.
Through practical training and hands-on experience, participants will
learn how to effectively navigate the job application process, build
strong professional habits, and confidently enter the workforce.

Volunteens
The Youth Opportunity Center is recruiting teens who are interested
in volunteering opportunities and experience. This will promote
and allow teens to build interpersonal skills and give more to their

Teens in Action
The Youth Opportunity Center offers drop-in after-school activities for
teens in grades 7-12, designed to boost self-esteem, encourage social
engagement, and develop essential soft skills. In a safe and supervised
environment, teens can enjoy a variety of activities including cooking,
games, tutoring, arts and crafts, job readiness, and computer projects.
Participant packets provided at center. No Class 9/1, 9/12, 10/13,
11/6-11/7, 11/11, 11/24-28
