CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS
AT WORK!
Revitalizing our Parks
We're focusing on major upgrades that will elevate the outdoor
experience for Riverside residents. Here’s a look at the exciting
developments:
Park Playground Reopenings: Hunt Park and Harrison
Park playgrounds are now open! Seven more playground
replacement reopenings are scheduled soon, bringing even more
exciting and safer playgrounds for our community to enjoy. Follow
us on Instagram and Facebook @RivParks to stay updated on the
next one!
Patterson Park: Thanks to a 7.15 million-dollar grant from
California State Parks, major renovations are set to begin in the
coming months. Improvements will include a new jogging/
walking loop, two soccer fields, a splash pad, fitness stations, and
much more, creating a vibrant hub for our community to enjoy for
years to come.
Tim Strack Park: Renamed
in honor of Riverside Fire Captain
Tim Strack, this park is set to open
in early fall 2025. With new features
like playgrounds, fitness stations,
and picnic areas, this park will serve
as a fitting tribute to a Riverside
hero while providing a beautiful
space for local families.
César Chávez Community Center: While we work
on transforming the space, please be aware of the dust and
limited parking availability. The parking lot on Douglass will
be temporarily closed, and parking will be impacted. Despite
the construction, we’re thrilled about the upcoming additions,
including a brand new library and an enhanced community
center, which will offer even more services and resources for our
community once completed.
Fairmount Park Lake Dredging: The Fairmount Park
Lake Dredging Project has been completed, removing sediment
from the lake to improve lake depth and water quality. Expect
the return of pedal boats, with ongoing efforts to maintain water
quality and ensure a long-lasting, enjoyable experience for all.
These projects represent our dedication to creating healthy,
thriving spaces that enhance the quality of life for everyone in
Riverside. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to transform
these iconic community spaces!
