03 PLACENTIA IS TURNING 100 IN 2026!
The City of Placentia is turning 100 in 2026! The City will officially reach this
exciting milestone on December 2, 2026, and we're planning a full year of
centennial-themed festivities to mark the occasion. From commemorative
merchandise and updated branding to community engagement and a special
birthday celebration in December, 2026 will be a year to remember!
In addition to centennial booths and activities at all regularly scheduled City
events throughout the year, Placentia will host several major centennial
events, including:
• Mayor’s Centennial Gala – Saturday, January 24, 2026
• Centennial 5K Run – Saturday, May 2, 2026
• Centennial Birthday Celebration and Tree Lighting – Saturday,
December 5, 2026
To ensure this milestone is inclusive
and reflective of our community
spirit, the City formed a Centennial
Steering Committee comprised of
local organizations, nonprofits, and
community leaders. The Committee
is working diligently to develop
unique programming and memorable
events for all ages.
As we prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration, the City is offering a variety
of ways for residents, businesses, and community partners to get involved.

Auction to help fund the year of events. We are currently seeking donations of
unique and exciting items that can be auctioned off. Businesses and individuals
are encouraged to contribute. Donations can be dropped off at Placentia City
Hall (401 E. Chapman Ave.) Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. To learn more or coordinate a donation, please contact the Community
Services Department using the information above.
