STEM program where we will build unique and open-ended creations with a

Storytime features activities that will promote early literacy and lifelong learning
through songs, bounces, fingerplays, and books. Storytime is also an opportunity
for caregivers to learn ways they can incorporate learning activities into everyday
routines. Please watch our social media for cancellations. Registration is not
required. No storytime: November 11.

Babies are invited to move, play, and socialize to grow their minds and bodies!
Sensory play allows children to connect ideas with concrete experiences,
stimulating the brain, and developing fine and gross motor skills. The 10 AM
session is for ages 4- to 18-months-old and the 11 AM session is for 19-months-
to 2-years-old. Note: these are new program start times. This program is
sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Registration is not required
but space is limited.

Bringing Characters to Life Writing

Your child has the power to bring characters - heroes, even villains - to
life through writing! Join us for a creative writing workshop on character
development with professional arts journalist Tamzin Elliott. Kids will be guided
through brainstorming exercises, scene writing, and a discussion of some of their

The Wonder of Repujado (Ages 5-11)

Happy Hispanic Heritage month! Learn the history of the beautiful Mexican
art form, Repujado, also known as embossed metal. Children will have the
opportunity to design, emboss, and color their very own Repujado. This program
is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Registration is required and
begins September 8.

Summon the spirits this Halloween with DIY ghostly lanterns! Kids will make
silhouette art with not-so-scary shapes of all their favorite ghouls and beasties.

Boo! Looking for the perfect costume accessory to collect treats? Come to
the Library to get creative with a spooky craft that’s both unique and practical!
Children will be decorating tote bags using seasonal stamps and other materials.

Chassé Into Storytime (Ages 1-10)

Location: Barth Community Room
Join us as we celebrate World Ballet Day with special guests from DanceFit.
Together we’ll share ballet stories, songs, and take an introductory ballet
lesson. Pirouette over to the Library for this special celebration! The 2:00 PM
session is for 1- to 3-year-olds and the 2:30 PM session is for 4- to 10-year-olds.
Registration is required and begins October 20.

Intro to Hand Sewing and Mending
(Ages 9-11)
Saturday, November 15 | 2 PM
Location: Barth Community Room
Learn to sew and mend at the Library! Your child will have the opportunity
to practice the very basics of hand-sewing including threading a needle, basic
seams, and sewing on a button. Sewing can provide benefits such as inspiring self-
reliance, sustainability, and creativity. This program is sponsored by the Friends
of the Library. Registration is required and begins October 27.

Does This Pickle Your Fancy? (Ages 5-11)

Have you ever wondered what makes a pickle so…pickley? Kids can come
celebrate pickled food from all over the world. Attendees will learn about the
science of fermentation and leave with a kit to get started pickling in their very
own home kitchen! This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Harp for the Holidays (All Ages)
Saturday, December 13 | 2 PM
Location: Children’s Room
Join us at the Library for some live music of the season with harpist, Tamzin Elliott.
Take a minute for self-care during the busy holiday preparations, and feed your
kids’ curiosity about music and instruments. In addition to the soothing melodies,
Elliott will provide a demonstration of the harp, how it works, and all the magical
things it can do. Registration is not required.
