Seasonal Autumn Greetings!
With our wonderful San Marino schools due
back in session mid-August, it feels like summer
unofficially ends a bit earlier than we’d like it to.
But we know that all the summer fun in San Marino
stretches well into the latter part of the year,
and this year is no different. Your City staff, and
especially the Community Services Department,
have been hard at work curating some
incredible events that you won’t want to miss.
One program that stands out as a favorite of mine and brings our youngest
residents together in very unique ways is our quarterly Family Nights
hosted at the San Marino Community Center. If you’ve participated
before, you know just how truly extraordinary they can be and if you have
yet to attend, I encourage you to do so. They embody the San Marino
spirit of community and creativity and regularly reach capacity!
This fall, we will also be celebrating a very special milestone in our City’s
history, the Centennial of our beloved Lacy Park. Serving as a beating
heart of San Marino, Lacy Park has played an incredible role as the site
of so many memories and so much nature, and a century of community
pride. This event will honor the legacy of the park throughout the past
one hundred years and give our community an opportunity to come
together and enjoy another reason why San Marino is so special. I look
forward to seeing all of you with your picnic baskets at the park on
September 27 for this great occasion.
Whether it’s the programs listed above, or the dozens more listed in
this guide, we hope we have something to offer that is of interest to
you. As always, if you have any questions for myself or any of us at City
Hall, please don’t hesitate to reach out at (626) 300-0788 or email me at
CityManagerOffice@SanMarinoCA.gov.
I look forward to seeing you around town!

City Manager
We’re excited to announce in this issue of
your Community Services Guide the exciting
Lacy Park Centennial on Saturday, September
27 (see above). Autumn will officially begin on
Monday, September 22, and it’s such a beautiful
time of year! In the coming weeks, the weather
will begin to transition, and we look forward
to cooler temperatures and pumpkin season!
Then, we’ll enter the holidays with seasonal
events, spooky and festive decorations, and
heart-warming holiday light displays all around town. We encourage our
residents and patrons to stay involved and connected to their neighbors
and nature by visiting the park as often as possible no matter the season!
In addition to the Lacy Park Centennial, the Guide also offers many other
popular core programs, services, and special events available through
the end of the year. Our passionate Recreation and Library teams work
hard to ensure that our wide variety of programs and services include
something for all ages, interests, and abilities, including our furry canine
family members! See page 6 – Puppy Love Dog PAW-ty.
