COMMUNITY RESOURCES
The City of Signal Hill provides a monthly supplement of groceries for
families and senior citizens in need of support. These programs are
available to low-income Signal Hill residents by application only and
available on a first come, first-served basis. Contact Parks, Recreation, and
Library Services at 562-989-7330 for questions or email comservices@
cityofsignalhill.org.
Family Food Distribution Program: Eligible families receive a monthly
allocation to Mother’s Nutritional Market.
Senior Food Distribution Program: Eligible senior citizens receive a
monthly distribution of supplemental groceries.
SUBSIDIZED TRANSPORTATION
Do you know a Signal Hill resident aged 62 or older who might need help
with getting a ride to a doctor’s appointment? Is there a Senior Citizen
in your neighborhood who uses the Long Beach Transit? We can help!
Residents ages 62 or older or who are 18 years and older and can provide
a proof of disability signed by a licensed physician are eligible for these
subsidized transportation programs. Contact 562-989-7330 for all
transportation questions.
Transportation Programs Include:
• Bus Passes: monthly low-cost bus pass for seniors (62 years +)
• Dial-A-Taxi: Curb-to-curb transportation for seniors (50 years +)
• Dial-A-Lift: Accessible transportation for residents with limited mobility
BRICKS ON THE HILLTOP & DOG PARK
Be a part of Signal Hill history by purchasing a brick to be engraved at
Hilltop Park and the Signal Hill Dog Park. At Hilltop Park, you can select
a picturesque view of the surrounding areas and even out to Catalina
Island, 26 miles away. This is a perfect opportunity to celebrate a
momentous occasion or commemorate your furry friend at the Signal
Hill Dog Park.

MEAL VOUCHER
FOR ACTIVE MILITARY & VETERANS
Signal Hill Active Military & Veterans residents can receive a free meal
voucher starting Monday, November 3, 2025 through November 14,
2025 from the Parks, Recreation & Library Services Department Offices.
Supply is limited; must show proof of residency.

Are you a Veteran? Would you like to support Veterans in the
community? FREE yard signs recognizing our Veterans will be available
for pick-up at the Parks, Recreation, & Library Services Office starting
Monday, November 3, 2025 through November 14, 2025. Supply is

VETERANS AFFAIRS Ages 18+
Wednesday, November 12, 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Location: Library Community Room
Rebecca Kopczak, Outreach Coordinator and Public Affairs Specialist
with Department of Veterans Affairs, will share a presentation about
VA benefits for Veterans and help them navigate the enrollment
process to connect them to healthcare services. After her presentation,
Rebecca will be available to answer questions and provide relevant
resources to attendees.
DOCUMENTARY: THE WAR AFTER
Ages 14+
Thursday, November 13, 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.
Location: Library Community Room
The War After is a powerful, 70-minute documentary featuring nine U.S.
veterans transitioning from active duty to the unexpected challenges
of civilian life. The film is told through the voices of dynamic young men
and women from diverse economic and racial backgrounds and varied
branches of military service. The War After is a timely and personal view
of the American service experience. Participants younger than 18 years
must be accompanied by parent/legal guardian. Registration required.
