DOG LICENSE RENEWAL
The City of Signal Hill contracts with the City of Long Beach Animal Care
for services. All dogs, age four months and older, are required to have a
current dog license by local municipal code (Signal Hill SHMC 6.04.030).
Dog licenses are required to be renewed each year. To purchase a dog
license from the Parks, Recreation, and Library Services Department
(formerly Community Services), please present a current rabies
inoculation certificate (must be good for the entire licensing period).
For all new dog licenses, a certificate of sterility if the dog has been
spayed or neutered must be shown.
DOG LICENSE COSTS:
• $250 Unaltered
• $28 Altered
• $14 Altered - (Age 60+) - good for one dog per household
• $15 Late Fee
• $10 Dog License Tag/Replacement Tags

PICKING UP AFTER YOUR PET
The City of Signal Hill is encouraging residents to take the lead and
scoop the poop! Did you know that dog waste does not break down
and can end up in the City’s drainage systems? Or that dog waste
contains disease causing bacteria and parasite that may be harmful to
humans and other pets? Help keep your pets safe and our City clean by
picking up after your pet.
PET SPAY & NEUTER VOUCHERS
Do you have a cat or dog that needs to be spayed or neutered? Any
Signal Hill resident can apply for a discount voucher through Long
Beach Animal Care Services website. Proof of address required to
complete the online application. Only specific veterinary clinics accept
this discount voucher. More information can be found at https://www.
