CANZELLE ALPACA FARM &
AVOCADO FESTIVAL
Come along with other Calabasas seniors on a visit to the Canzelle
Alpaca Farm in Carpentaria. Alpacas are part of the camelid family
(camels, llamas, vicunas & guanacos) and come from the high rugged
Andes of Peru. The alpaca fleece is hypoallergenic (no lanolin) and
fire and water resistant. As well as being adorable, the alpaca is
tough and considerate. The alpaca is earth friendly, having two-toed
hooves which means the soil is not disturbed where they graze. The
word jerky comes from the Incan ch’arki which is the word for the
dried meat of alpacas and llamas. There is time for a bit of shopping
at the alpaca store - maybe a cozy, warm blanket or a soft sweater or
scarf. Following the alpaca tour, it’s off to the Carpentaria Avocado
Festival and a no host lunch at one of the several food booths.
Transportation is included via the City Shuttle.
The shuttle departs from the Calabasas Senior Center,
300 Civic Center Way.

SOFI STADIUM TOUR
SoFi Stadium, home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles
Chargers, is nestled in the heart of the sports and entertainment
capital of the world. Here one can experience what it’s like to be
an LA fan, game viewer, player and more, on and off the field. Tours
feature a behind-the-scenes experience of some of SoFi Stadium’s
most exclusive spaces including the player tunnel, the locker room
and more. Explore the transformation of the 300-acre Hollywood
Park in Inglewood, CA, from racetrack to major sports stadium. This
trip is being repeated from 2023, due to popular success.
The visit includes a 60 minute privately guided tour, a Tunnel
Run experience, and field and locker room access. Because this
is “rally day”, the stadium is fully decorated for the team playing
the following day. Depending on what is happening during
the day, one might have the opportunity to see behind-the-
scenes set up for the game and NFL Network. It is also likely
to have college football playing on the TV’s in the club space.

The Old Place? Or Cornell? All these and more are visited on a bus

landmark locations at the Calabasas Library and has written Three
Magical Miles, which is given to all participants on this tour. His book
has 500 amazing photographs of locations and people, many of
them actors from early Hollywood movies. The major movie studios
owned large ranches in the area as settings for primary black and
white movies. Lunch is at The Old Place outside, under cover, on
participants own tab.
