students gain hands-on flying experience and
learn how their newly acquired skills can translate
to dozens of different industries, from commercial
photography and cinematography to real estate
and firefighting.
Citrus College also offers other specialized drone
courses, such as NC 110 Drone Applications in
Public Safety, NC 111 Autonomous Applications
in Drones and NC 112 Environmental Science
Applications in Drones. These classes, which are
also free, are ideal for students seeking a deeper
understanding of the practical applications of
drones.
While students will learn to fly drones in the
program, they will need to pass a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) test to operate
them commercially. Thankfully, the courses are
systems (UAS). This degree will give students
the ability to take more drone-related courses,
as well as electives in photography, geography,
forestry and public works.
